Map of the South East

Immense progress was made in the sciences before the great era of human expansion nearly eight hundred years ago. Human scholars and wizards established a solid basis for astronomy and geography, and they radically modified cartography and ensured for navigation a security hitherto unknown. This surge of innovation enabled the expansion of humanity from the West to the East.

Commonly available in this part of the world, many maps of the East and South East, except those produced in the East, do not yet indicate the existence of the Eastern Empire. Many cartographers entertain prejudices against the Eastern Empire and hope that somehow its political existence might be overlooked.

(The players' starting position will be in or near the village of Markindale at the northern edge of the map.)
